Description

Edit: This sheet is in no way CANON to the species created by Rubilight, this is just something i was fooling around with, this should not be taken seriously please and thank you in respect to the species creator~!

Also this is a CLOSED speceis and no one can make a mais without adopting one from the many sheets that have a mais available on 'em. If you would like to adopt a mais, please look at the open adoptable sheets here please and thank you~! We would love to have more mais members at the pond~! :3

Something I noticed when I was snooping on the Mais Reference sheets, then took on a joy ride with :3

So to add to the observant studies that Dr. Batoo Van Ponding has taken note of, I would like to add in another slice of the Maisus anatomy, the Ocular level~!! :3

~~~~~Singutoid Eyes~~~~~~
~These mais take up to about 85% of the species population at the moment
~There Sclera is completely black as opposed to the humans, which is white.
~The Iris's of these mais are either black dark grey or in some mais, a very faint tint of brown (though not too common)
~Despite the black sclera, the mais do not seem to have any difference in there field f vision as opposed to the Colourtiod mais group.
~ Children of these mais can be born with colourtoid eyes depending on the parents history.
~~~~Colourtoid Eyes~~~~~

~These mais take up to 14% of the species population at the moment
~The sclera in these mais are white, much like the human eyes sclera is white.
~There Iris's can come in a wide variety of colour unlike the few limitations of humans.
~There field of vision is no different than the Singutoid mais.
~Though not as common, the Colourtoid eyes can appear in children with or without the precense of a parent having this evolution.
~Males seem to posses this trait more than females, suggestion that this is an evolutionary tactic to help aquire the perfect mate and draw in more interest.
~It is rare for a female to posses the colourtoid eyes trait, though it is still possible with family lineage.

~~~~Gyllene Eyes~~~~~
~These mais only make up 1% of the species current population at the moment.
~This type of Ocular evolution may be a rare natural occurrence or a special type of mutation
~This is the most rare form of Ocular evolution to date. Not much is know on the subject currently
~The sclera is black just like a singutoid Mais, but the iris seems to always be a yellow or golden in colour, no other colour has been shown yet.
~It seems so far, gyllene eyed mais have a better sense of vision than Singutoid and colourtoid mais, with the select few having an eye for spotting glistening objects, have a fine eye in spotting specific plants and can see objects and creature from a far away distance or even having a strong sense of concentration with minuscule handling.
~These mais have vastly different body pattern and builds, but this typing may indicate a shared heritage (not enough evidence is present yet to be conclusive)
~They tend to have a stronger physical build and more combat skills then the greater singutoid and colourtoid mais.
~Though so far males have had this colouration mostly, Females can posses it too, but not enough data has been compiled to know this.
~Though not much data is available, it appears that when a male and female Gyllene couple have a child, it is almost guaranteed to have this trait, but a male Gyllene and a female colourtoid couple have had a child with this as well, more tests mush be done in the future.
Not much is known on the subject of the Different Eye types, but maybe the elders of the pond or even the wandering potion maker may shed more light onto this subject, we can only hope to know more about all of this, especially the Gyllene line of Mais and why these types are so rare to the pond and if a colony exists else where in the world.
